MENU:
This is a relaxed menu and is best served buffet style. Choose one theme for the food. Plan the hors d'oeuvres and meal around this. Be sure to have a variety of beverages.
1. Italian - pizza, sausages and peppers, Italian sub sandwiches, salads
2. Mexican - nachos, espinaca con queso, guacamole, quesadillas, chili
3. Grilled foods - onion dip, chips, pretzels and hot mustards, cheese and crackers, hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled onions, salad
DECORATIONS/THEME: Use themed paper products and serving dishes; co-ordinate team colors
into all decorations; team pennants; 6' cardboard sports figures; set out
football trivia. Set up (imitation) goal posts at the entrance of your home.
If possible set up multiple TVs so the game may be seen from different areas of
the home. Put out any sports newspapers and magazines.
ENTERTAINMENT: Friends sharing time together. This is a relaxed evening.
ORGANIZE PARTY DETAILS: Think your party through and create a list of what you need to do.
If all guests are not football fanatics, plan to have an area for them.
Clear closets for coat. Set the buffet away from the direct line of viewing.
SHOPPING LIST:
List all you need to buy: food, beverage, and decorations. Remember if grilling to check
either gas for the grill or charcoal. Be sure to include any theme related items
you may be borrowing. Label any borrowed items so you may be sure to return them to the correct friend.
SCHEDULE OF TASKS: Plan each detail: cocktails and meal, where you will set the hors d’oeuvres, set the table, check the bathrooms.
LOGISTICS: Organize a list of what needs to be done and when. Plan to clean the day
before the party. Make sure there are enough chairs and that guests will have a clear
view of the game. Check and make sure the television has good reception.
TRAFFIC FLOW : Plan where you will place everything and how guests can access food and drink
without impeding the view of the game.
