DECORATIONS/THEME: Use themed paper products and serving dishes; co-ordinate team colors into all decorations; team pennants; 6' cardboard sports figures; set out football trivia. Set up (imitation) goal posts at the entrance of your home. If possible set up multiple TVs so the game may be seen from different areas of the home. Put out any sports newspapers and magazines.

ENTERTAINMENT: Friends sharing time together. This is a relaxed evening.

ORGANIZE PARTY DETAILS: Think your party through and create a list of what you need to do. If all guests are not football fanatics, plan to have an area for them. Clear closets for coat. Set the buffet away from the direct line of viewing.

SHOPPING LIST: List all you need to buy: food, beverage, and decorations. Remember if grilling to check either gas for the grill or charcoal. Be sure to include any theme related items you may be borrowing. Label any borrowed items so you may be sure to return them to the correct friend.

SCHEDULE OF TASKS: Plan each detail: cocktails and meal, where you will set the hors d’oeuvres, set the table, check the bathrooms.

LOGISTICS: Organize a list of what needs to be done and when. Plan to clean the day before the party. Make sure there are enough chairs and that guests will have a clear view of the game. Check and make sure the television has good reception.

TRAFFIC FLOW : Plan where you will place everything and how guests can access food and drink without impeding the view of the game.
